IPC Section 111 — Liability of abettor when one act abetted and different act done

Summary

When someone encourages or helps another person to commit a specific act, but that person instead does a different act, the person who gave the encouragement or help is still responsible for that different act. The law treats them as if they had directly encouraged or helped that different act from the start.

When an Act is abetted and a different act is done, the abettor is liable for the act done, in the same manner and to the same extent as if he had directly abetted it.
