IPC Section 112 — Abettor when liable to cumulative punishment for act abetted and for act done

Summary

If someone helps commit a crime, and in doing that help they also commit a separate, different crime on their own, they can be punished for both the original crime they helped with and the separate crime they committed. This means the person may face separate penalties for each offence, not just one combined punishment.

If the act for which the abettor is liable under the last preceding section is committed in addition to the act abetted, and constitute a distinct offence, the abettor is liable to punishment for each of the offences.
