IPC Section 303 — Punishment for murder by life-convict

Summary

A person who is already serving a life sentence and then commits murder will be punished with the death penalty. This section applies only when the person committing the murder is currently under a life imprisonment sentence.

Official Text

Whoever, being under sentence of imprisonment for life, commits murder, shall be punished with death.
