Summary

If a person illegally stops or prevents another person from moving freely, that act is called wrongful restraint. The punishment for this offence can be simple jail time for up to one month, a fine of up to five hundred rupees, or both.

Official Text

Whoever wrongfully restrains any person shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
