IPC Section 63 — Amount of fine

Summary

If a law does not state a maximum amount for a fine, the court can impose any amount of fine on the person found guilty. However, the fine must not be excessive or unreasonable.

Official Text

Where no sum is expressed to which a fine may extend, the amount of fine to which the offender is liable is unlimited, but shall not be excessive.
