Summary

Whoever breaks any rule of this Act, or any rule, regulation, or notification made under it, will be punished if no other penalty is already specified for that particular offence. For the first such offence, the fine can go up to five hundred rupees. For any second or later offence, the fine can go up to one thousand and five hundred rupees.

Whoever contravenes any provision of this Act or of any rule, regulation or notification made thereunder shall, if no penalty is provided for the offence be punishable for the first offence with fine which may extend to 2[five hundred rupees], and for any second or subsequent offence with fine which may extend to 3[one thousand and five hundred rupees]. 4[
