Summary

A bill of exchange or promissory note can be shown for acceptance or payment to the person who is legally authorised to act on behalf of the person who must pay or accept it. If that person has died, the document can be presented to their legal representative, such as an executor or administrator. If that person has been declared insolvent, it can be presented to the official assignee who manages their assets.

Presentment for acceptance or payment may be made to the duly authorized agent of the drawee, maker or accept or, as the case may be, or, where the drawee, maker or acceptor has died, to his legal representative, or, where he has been declared an insolvent, to his assignee. 2
