CHAPTER II LICENSING OF DRIVERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES

Summary

Sub-section (1) states that every learner's licence and driving licence, except for a driving licence issued under section 18, must be in the form and contain the information that the Central Government prescribes.

Sub-section (2) states that a learner's licence or driving licence must also clearly show that it allows the holder to drive one or more of the following classes of motor vehicles: a motor cycle without gear, a motor cycle with gear, an adapted vehicle, a light motor vehicle, a transport vehicle, a road-roller, or a motor vehicle of a specified description.

(1) Every learner’s licence and driving licence, except a driving licence issued under section 18, shall be in such form and shall contain such information as may be prescribed by the Central Government.

(2) A learner’s licence or, as the case may be, driving licence shall also be expressed as entitling the holder to drive a motor vehicle of one or more of the following classes, namely:—

(a) motor cycle without gear;

(b) motor cycle with gear;

(c) 3[adapted vehicle];

(d) light motor vehicle; 4[

(e) transport vehicle;]

(i) road-roller;

(j) motor vehicle of a specified description.
