Summary

If a promissory note or bill of exchange does not specify a particular place for payment as described in the earlier sections, it must be presented for payment at the place of business of the person who has to pay it, or if there is no place of business, at their usual residence. This applies to the maker, drawee, or acceptor, depending on who is responsible for payment.

A promissory note or bill of exchange, not made payable as mentioned in sections 68 and 69, must be presented for payment at the place of business (if any), or at the usual residence, of the maker, drawee or acceptor thereof, as the case may be.
